Located beachside at pristine Wonga Beach, it is a scenic 90-minute drive north of Cairns. The property was fully renovated in 2013 and is a unique combination of modern and retro seaside styling. Up from Port Douglas and bordered on one side by the Daintree National Park, this charming holiday accommodation is nestled in the quiet township of Wonga Beach. It is artistically in sympathy with its environment and you’ll find in it, every comfort and convenience of a contemporary home. Reef Cottage’s ambience is of total relaxation and tranquillity. One of the finest beaches of the northern coast is just 200 steps from your front door – Wonga Beach, 10.5 kilometres of tropical strand curving from Rocky Point to the mouth of the renowned Daintree River. Walk along the beach for hours and not see another soul. Sun bathe, picnic, snorkel or just laze on the sand to your heart’s content. At low tide explore Bell Reef (Wonga Beach's own inner reef), at other times, listen to the rush of waves to the shore with the changing tide. Reflecting its proximity to the Daintree Rainforest, there are plenty of opportunities to watch tropical birds, and being close to the reef, you may be lucky to see turtles near the shore.

GETTING THERE
In order to enjoy travelling around, you'll need to have a vehicle at your disposal. If you're flying into Cairns, and like driving, you can pre book your car and pick it up on arrival at Cairns airport.
Alternatively, you may prefer to use the shuttle bus/coach from Cairns Airport to Port Douglas, and then hire a car to drive the 35 km to Wonga Beach.
In both cases, we're able to assist you with car hire details including being available during your transfers at PD.
